Marina Bay Sands Sky Park & Esplanade : Review and attractions

IMM Shopping Mall & Daiso -always $2

That was our last day of our Singapore trip. In the morning we went to the IMM mall which is just 10 minutes travel from my friend’s house. It is a huge mall with so many shops, restaurants and food courts. We entered into Daiso Japan stores ,where all the stuffs(cosmetics, skincare,Cute accessories,Stationary, homeware ) costs $2. There are three Daiso branches in Singapore: one at IMM Jurong and the other two at Vivo City and Plaza Singapura. We had picked up so many items from this supermart. The store was so crowded but the billing was easy since  Everything here is sold at the same price. We really enjoyed the shopping experience in this one price Japanese store. The time was flying like anything. It was already 1.0′clock. We had a superb lunch from a Balithai restaurant with lots of awesome new dishes.

Marina Bay Sands Sky Park.

Our next destination is skypark in Marina Bay sands. Marina Bay Sands hotel is a three 55 storey towers and these three towers are connected with a one hectare terrace on the roof -” sky park” providing complete view of Singapore’s skyline. The entrance fee for the sky park is $20 and is open from 10.am to 10.pm. After purchasing  the tickets from the box office located in the new and permanent location at Basement 1 we reached the the Public Observation Deck at the roof top in lift which took only a few seconds. From the observation deck which is 200 meters above the sea level we experienced an  unforgettable panoramic view of lighting Singapore. We could see the giant singapore flyer without moving since this sky park provides a better and impressive view than flyer. If your camera works well in dark you can take amazing photographs of yourself and the cityscape. The restaurants and the bars on the top are bit expensive. The infinity swimming pool ,world’s longest elevated swimming pool, with a 146-metre vanishing edge, 200 metres above the ground was really amazing. That was an unique structural masterpiece. Swimming pool is Simply spectacular. There are beach chairs for relaxation near the loving infinitey pool. I think now Marina bay sands can be the new icon of Singapore.

Gambling – casino in Singapore

Singapore has two integrated resorts with Casinos. One at Marina Bay sands and the other at Resorts world Sentosa. The former one was really larger. For citizens and permanent residents of Singapore have to pay S$100/day to get in the casino, While foreign visitors can enter for free. The hotel’s casino has four levels of gaming with an area of 15,000 square metres. It includes 600 gaming tables and over 1500 slot machines. We entered and had a bird’s view over all the games and came back thinking to try our luck next time. Also the premiere of ” The lion king ” was going at the sands theatre.

Esplanade

Esplanade theatre in Marine  Bay ,one of the world,s busiest art centres is the star in Singapore’s cultural centre. It is the frequent stage for the Singapore symphony orchestra. Esplanade Theatre’s design is like two huge oval shells kept side by side. we had seen  concert hall and arts center inside the theatre and currently some show was going on there. The  night view of this theatre with full lights is spectacular. We had some beautiful  and romantic photo session in front of the Esplanade. If you are in Singapore and love performing arts and shows, this is a must go place.

Merlion park

The Merlion fountain is close to this Esplanade. The Merlion – a lion with the body of fish standing at a height is Singapore’s iconic symbol. We were  able to see a  small portion of the Merlion  since this landmark was under renovation.Really it was a picturesque spot since You can get yourself photographed here with the Singapore flyer, esplanade, lighted Marina Bay sands as a background. The laser show from the MarinaBay sands had added charm to the night. For more than one hour we cracked the jokes and relaxed on the calm atmosphere.

We reached back at 11.30pm. We had missed all the museums in Singapore-Mint museum of toys, The changi , Asian civilizations,Peranakan museum,Army museum of Singapore and science centre Singapore. After four days in Singapore we felt singapore as our home town .We thought of extending the ticket for two more days so that we can have a boat trip to Indonesia. But my blackberry was continuously pinging me. It reminded me that it is time to get back to work.  So a heart felt Good bye to Singapore…..
